5th grade Community Circle

Today 5th grade hosted our first Community Circle of the year.

Community Circle began with a dance party. Once  everybody was seated 5th grade introduced the NORMS and silent cheer.

Our Boy Scouts led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Our new school song was sung for the first time together. Big thanks to Ms. Jeffs for working hard to teach the song to each class. It sounds great! You can hear the school song HERE.

Vikings performed the dance "Continental Drift". Big thanks to Ms. Mills for all the time she put in teaching the dance to each class. You can watch the dance HERE.

5th grade sang a song which you can listen to HERE

That's all for Community Circle today. Be sure to check the UPDATES tab at the top of the blog to see upcoming events happening at Voyage Academy. :)

Wearing pink for Jamie

Today Voyage Academy was flooded with the color pink. Not because we love the color, but because we love Ms. Jamie, our Kitchen manager. Jamie has been battling stage 4 breast cancer for the past 2 years, and recently learned that the cancer has spread throughout her whole body. Jamie continues to fight and is dedicated to the kids at Voyage Academy. No matter what pain she is enduring she arrives at school everyday to prepare healthy, delicious food for our kids and staff.

Vikings wanted to show Jamie their support by wearing the color pink for a dress down day, and by donating money towards Jamie's fight against cancer. Our Governing Board made a special visit to the school today to express their appreciation for Jamie and all she does, and to present her with a pink shirt that reads, "Striving for Excellence. . . no matter the Voyage." We love you Jamie!! We think you are AMAZING!! Continue to fight and kick cancer's butt, we're with you every step of the way!
